I absolutely love my job! I get to see the entire learning process, all the way from when students know nothing about the language and cannot speak, to the point when they can communicate freely. This is a real joy to observe. I love creative people who strive to improve themselves. I don’t put up with ignorance or a lack of humor. I believe that a foreign language can be learned at any age, if one has the desire!

I love the friendly atmosphere that develops at NovaMova as teachers and students become united by their common purpose: learning the Russian language. This atmosphere is perfect for working both individually and in groups as well as for developing best personal qualities in students and teachers. Studying Russian isn't scary, but actually quite interesting. Russian is interesting because of its «great and mighty» heritage, because of the wealth of its vocabulary and style of word formation, and because of the all the great classics and the depth of the Russian soul.

Studying Russian is a challenging process for foreigners. Yet, it is one of the most rewarding ones. Russian is spoken in numerous countries and is understood in even more countries. Besides grammar rules, it is important to students learn how to feel the language. It does not matter whether you want to conduct important negotiations, read books or buy coffee. You will succeed only if you know the deep meaning of the words.

My knowledge of German is a small bonus for new German-speaking students. The biggest reward for me is the success of my students. I have been working at NovaMova for several years now. I am glad to be a member of this friendly team. Our school is taught by highly qualified specialists and has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Together with knowledge, our students take away memories of a pleasant time spent.

Oksana Samusenko, Ukrainian and Russian Teacher
Doctor of Philosophy, Teacher of Russian as a Foreign Language Russian and Georgian Teacher Tbilisi
Education: Tbilisi State University, 1973
Teaching experience: since 1984

I have been teaching Russian as a foreign language since 1975 both to Georgian students and foreign students (preparatory faculty for foreign students). I cooperated with a number of international organisations as a teacher of Russian as a Foreign language. During the last 11 years I worked in Turkey. It was an interesting experience of teaching in a non-linguistic environment, which came in handy for me now in Georgia. I am interested in working in the NovaMova organisation, because here we have students from different countries and different age categories.

Our work gives an opportunity not only to teach, but also to learn, to expand not only contacts, but also one's horizons.

I enjoy business and love teaching others how to succeed in business. In 2001, I partnered with Andrei Kononenko to set up the NovaMova International Language School. This has been a life-changing experience for me. I really enjoy what I do for the simple fact that I get to work with such a diverse group of professionals. As a linguistic professional, I pride myself in bringing excellence to the language training industry. As a graduate of Shevchenko University in Kyiv, Ukraine, I am a linguistic specialist in the field of interpreting and translating. If someone asks me, whether I like my job or not, I will definitely answer: sure! I’ve been working in the school for 15 years already. NovaMova is, first of all, the most friendly and helpful staff in the world and the great variety of different useful and interesting projects for each member. It’s even more than colleagues, it’s a family of people who work for the unified goal – to build the process of studying foreign languages in the easiest and most exciting way to make it clear and available for everyone.

Victoria Samusenko, Program Coordinator (Conversation Practise Coordinator)

I started my journey with NovaMova years ago at the Kyiv office, and now I’m thrilled to be part of the team here in Tbilisi. Helping students explore Georgia’s rich history, vibrant modern culture, and unique traditions is one of the most exciting parts of our work. I especially enjoy seeing them practice their target language and build real connections by making local friends. What’s better than conversation practice that truly brings language learning to life? This is just one piece of the larger puzzle we work on every day to create our immersive programs. Being part of our students’ educational journeys makes it all worthwhile!

Nino Guruli, Program Coordinator Tbilisi

I joined the Novamova Tbilisi office when it opened in January 2023. What attracted me here from the beginning was the amazing team – passionate people who love their work and always help each other. As a program coordinator, my job involves a lot of communication with students, teachers, guest speakers, host families, and more. Besides communication, which is often very interesting, a big part of my role is planning programs alongside my colleagues, something I've always enjoyed. I can say that working at Novamova fosters professional growth, with each challenge offering a great experience.

I’d also like to say a few words about Georgia. It’s a welcoming country with rich traditions, diverse nature, and, most importantly, people eager to share their culture and history with others. This country will definitely not leave students indifferent. Everyone will find something to cherish – whether it's a host family that will make you fall in love with Georgia through warm conversations over a cup of coffee, the delicious Georgian cuisine, or the breathtaking views of Kazbegi.
